Bhubaneswar Development Authority Starts Allocation of Homes

The BDA is providing 128 units of two BHK apartments in the housing project for the middle-class population. In order to participate in the lottery procedure for the assignment of the homes, the BDA has requested that potential buyers visit their official website and register there.
In accordance with the BDA's procedures, a person must register using the link on their website, providing all the necessary information, including their name, family composition, source of income, and whether they own any property inside the BDA's or the municipal corporation's boundaries, among other things.
A 2 lakh rupee security deposit and the remaining sum in two installments must be paid by anyone interested in purchasing a home unit here. Two different types of apartments are available here from the BDA, with predetermined prices of Rs 51.6 lakh and Rs 49.6 lakh, respectively.
The BDA stated in the brochure that the project consists of four residential buildings with a total of 128 two-bedroom flats, in addition to other features including a community hall, parking spaces, a garden, a play area, and a power backup facility.
“The online registration for the allotment of houses in the project will continue till July 7. We will look at the response of the buyers and assignallo the houses based on the defined rules. It is one of the best located projects in the city,” BDA vice-chairman Balwant Singh said.
Nearly seven years have passed since the BDA began such a program for the middle income group in the city. The most recent one was constructed in 2016. Then, the BDA had two housing projects—Paikarapur Phase I and Paikarapur Phase II—to choose from for this category. “A Rs 50-lakh price tag is not affordable. Private developers are offering the same price. The government should cut down the price of people like us, said Debesh Jena,” a college lecturer.
