India fast-tracks pumped storage projects with streamlined approvals

The Indian government has taken a notable step towards boosting the country's renewable energy capacity by introducing a range of initiatives aimed at expediting the commissioning of pumped storage projects. In order to streamline the approval process for detailed project reports of hydro pumped storage projects, the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has recently revamped its procedures. To facilitate the clearance process, the CEA has established a Single Window Clearance Cell, among other measures implemented to expedite the necessary approvals.
