Gadkari lays foundation stones for 10 National Highway projects

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, launched 10 National Highway projects valued at Rs 84 billion in Uttar Pradesh. During the event, Gadkari commended Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his strict stance on law and order, expressing his appreciation for the improved situation and the state's efforts in eliminating criminal activities. In response, Adityanath praised Gadkari's contributions as the transport minister, highlighting the significant advancements in road infrastructure development achieved under his leadership, surpassing the progress made in the past 70 years of India's independence.

Addressing a gathering in Pratapgarh district, where Gadkari initiated five projects worth Rs 22 billion, Adityanath expressed pride in the improved law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh and emphasised the state's role in the nation's progress. He stated that industrial development, farmer welfare, and infrastructure growth are crucial for Uttar Pradesh's growth and expressed confidence that under Yogi's leadership, the state will emerge as a top-ranking developing state in the country, with road infrastructure comparable to that of America.

In another program held in Deoria, where Gadkari laid the foundation for highway projects valued at Rs 61.25 billion, he thanked Adityanath for the government's efforts in curbing criminal activities. Gadkari mentioned that eight corridors, including the Gorakhpur-Siliguri greenfield expressway, which will connect Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal, are being constructed in Uttar Pradesh. He also revealed that the detailed project report (DPR) for the 840-km Gorakhpur-Shamli greenfield expressway, linking eastern and western Uttar Pradesh, is being prepared.

Additionally, Gadkari announced the development of 40 bypass roads in Uttar Pradesh, with an estimated cost of Rs 410 billion. He emphasised the significance of these projects for the state's growth. Adityanath highlighted the importance of the upcoming four-lane highway connecting Pratapgarh with Ayodhya and Sultanpur, especially in light of the Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya. He mentioned that the highway project would benefit those visiting Ayodhya to witness the grandeur of the Ram Temple once it opens to the public next year.
