HFCL bags Rs 809.2 mn Delhi Metro Rail Contract

Telecommunications equipment manufacturer HFCL Limited announced on Tuesday that it has secured a contract valued at Rs 809.2 million from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The company will be responsible for establishing the Fibre Optics Transmission System (FOTS) for the Delhi Metro Rail Project, as stated in a press release.
According to the announcement, HFCL will handle the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the Fibre Optics Transmission System (FOTS) for three priority corridors of Phase-IV of the Delhi Metro Rail Project. The contract win of Rs 809.2 million from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation was also disclosed.
HFCL boasts a strong track record in deploying communication networks for various railway projects both in India and globally. The company has previously worked on projects such as the Mauritius Metro, the ongoing Dhaka Metro project, the Gujarat Metro project, and the Kanpur-Agra metro rail projects, the statement noted.
The company expressed confidence in its ability to expand its railway capacities in India. Furthermore, HFCL has extensive experience in integrating communication networks for metro and mainline railways. It has successfully implemented video management systems in approximately 600 railway stations. In addition, HFCL was recently chosen by Indian Railways to conduct a 5G trial covering the Palwal-Mathura sector, which spans 82 km, the statement added.
