Monitoring Rs 1 billion project progress through HPMS portal

The committee monitors infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 1 billion on a monthly basis and has successfully ensured the timely completion of 13 projects, totaling Rs 20.99 billion, across various departments such as PWD (B&R), public health engineering, irrigation and water resources, technical education, urban local bodies, transport, energy, and home.

The government has been conducting reviews and regular capacity-building sessions to maintain the quality of these projects. In addition, the government is introducing the Haryana Project Monitoring System (HPMS) portal to further strengthen the monitoring process. This portal will provide interactive dashboards and facilitate seamless coordination, as stated by the chief secretary.

A discussion took place regarding the HPMS portal with additional chief secretaries and nodal officers responsible for monitoring the operational review of state infrastructure projects. The chief secretary highlighted the importance of timely updates and instructed officers to upload project progress within the first week of each month.

Currently, the standing committee is overseeing the progress of more than 90 projects in 14 departments, with a total cost exceeding Rs 577.98 billion.

Kaushal expressed his commitment to utilising technology to enhance monitoring and evaluation processes. He believes that the HPMS portal represents a significant advancement in promoting accountability and ensuring the punctual completion of projects.
