Bengaluru Green Line's Nagasandra-Madavara Metro to start in August

It was planned for the 3-kilometre route with three stations to be finished in 2017. However, the project faced delays due to concerns over acquiring land and other challenges. Connecting the city's outskirts to the BIEC, a premier exhibition venue, the Nagasandra-Madavara section will provide much-needed relief to commuters who currently rely on cars to travel between the two places.
The BMRCL, the organization responsible for the Bengaluru Metro, has announced that the Nagasandra-Madavara stretch is now 95% complete. The remaining work is expected to be finished in the coming weeks. Once completed, it will be Bengaluru's first metro line to link the east and west sides of the city, as well as the first to connect to the BIEC.
The elevated route from Nagasandra to Madavara (previously Bangalore International Exhibition Center-BIEC) will feature three stations: Manjunathnagar, Chikkabidarakallu, and Madavara.
The acquisition of land caused delays in the project. The BMRCL has set a new deadline for completing the construction on the metro line, aiming to open it for commercial operation in September.
