Solar panels on every building in 85 colonies soon

The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has identified up to 85 colonies as potential candidates for the Solar City label in order to guarantee the installation of solar panels on 100% of residential buildings.

The civic council resolved to choose one colony in each of the 85 wards of the city and urge homeowners to install solar panels on their homes during a meeting presided over by mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava and IMC commissioner Harshika Singh.

The mayor announced that a number of events would be planned while the advantages of converting to green energy were made known to consumers.

Additionally, he requested that the concerned senior authorities identify any land that belonged to IMC and create preparations for its development in order to enable the civic organisation generate more cash.

Bhargava stated that a suitable location will be found in the Bhawarkuan area to build up a library there, adding that a survey of the community halls and crematoriums will also be taken up for any restoration work that may be required there.
