Bengaluru Rail Project's Kanaka Line Civil Work Tender receives 4 bids

Four companies have submitted bids for the civil work tender of Corridor-4 (Kanaka line) in the Bengaluru suburban rail project, spanning from Heelalige to Rajankunte. The Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) - KRIDE, the implementing agency, announced this in a press release.

According to the release, the tender committee will soon begin the technical evaluation of the offers. After the evaluation process, the price bids will be opened.

KRIDE had invited bids for the civil engineering works of the Kanaka Line, which includes an 8.9 km elevated section and a 37.9 km at-grade section. The tender follows the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model, where the agencies are required to provide lump sum prices for the elevated section and at-grade section separately.

In June of the previous year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for the suburban rail project in Bengaluru, promising that it would become a reality within 40 months. Rail activists have been urging KRIDE to expedite the project, which has been envisioned for decades.
