Punjab government approves crusher policy for sand gravel

The Punjab Cabinet approved the Punjab Crusher Policy 2023 on Saturday during a meeting, allowing consumers to obtain sand and gravel at reasonable prices. Commercial crusher units (CCU) and public crusher units (PCU) are the two primary classifications of crusher units under the policy. It states that crushing units will also include screening, washing, and chopping plants.

The "crusher sale price" (CSP), which is announced by the state government, is the amount over which no mineral will be sold by any crusher unit. The CSP would consist of the cost of the mineral, transportation from the mining location to the crushing plant, processing costs, a profit margin, and loading the mineral onto any class of vehicles that are allowed for transportation.

The Department of Mines and Geology shall create an online portal system to register the crusher unit. Owners of crushers would self-register their machines using an internet site.
