CM Baghel inaugurates 72 projects worth Rs 1.12 billion

It was mentioned that Chhattisgarh boasted the country's highest per capita power consumption and that the first power plant had been inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1957. Since then, Korba had held the status of an energy capital. It was informed that the government had successfully implemented a Half Electricity Bill scheme to provide half electricity bills, ensuring 24-hour electricity for all.
It was noted that notably, 42 lakh families were now receiving 400 units of electricity at half the price due to the ambitious project by Hasdeo Thermal Power Station, which was said to be constructed at a cost of Rs 129.15 billion.
Baghel expressed his satisfaction with the rapid progress in obtaining permissions for the environment and coal, stating that it paved the way for the new power plant. He was hopeful that the plant would be operational by 2028, thus boosting power generation capacity in the state by 40 MW.
Besides this, it was mentioned that the state government was actively exploring solar energy initiatives and continuously improving the power system.
