India's First 8-Lane Elevated Urban Expressway to Open Soon

Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, claims that the Dwarka Expressway is almost finished and will soon be open for traffic.

According to the Minister, once the Expressway is operational, inhabitants of the Dwarka and old Gurugram areas would be able to commute from there to Jaipur through Sohna on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in about two hours.

The Minister further stated that this project will assist in reducing the amount of traffic on the Gurugram-Jaipur National Highway.

"The construction on Delhi's new outer ring road is expected to be finished in the next six months. The travel from Panipat to IGI Airport will be finished in half the time instead of two hours once this construction is finished, saving both time and fuel, according to the Union Minister.

Between Dwarka in New Delhi and Gurugram, the Dwarka highway would be the first eight-lane elevated urban highway in the nation.

It is predicted that the highway will open up new chances for the local real estate market.

The 29-km-long Dwarka expressway departs from NH-8 near Shiv Murti, travels through Dwarka, and finally terminates at Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurgaon, which is close to NH-8.

18.9 km of this highway, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 9,000 crore, are in Gurugram, and 10.1 km are in Delhi.

There are 4 km of tunnel being built, and 23 km of the expressway's overall length is elevated.

From the Dwarka Expressway to the Palam Airport, a 3.6-kilometer tunnel is being built. The expressway's Gurugram section is 99.3% finished with construction.
