AIIMS Delhi collaborates with IREDA for Solar-Powered campus

AIIMS Delhi has partnered with the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) to conduct a technical assessment of the hospital campus for its conversion into a solar-powered facility. According to an official statement, IREDA will carry out a comprehensive techno-commercial evaluation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campus.

In line with this collaboration, a nine-kilowatt rooftop solar plant at the AIIMS New Delhi campus was inaugurated on Tuesday. IREDA's assessment, as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), encompasses various aspects such as financial modelling, pre-feasibility studies, and the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR). They will also aid in analysing technical and commercial elements related to project development, finalising commercial and contracting arrangements, and defining performance indicators.

By venturing into this alliance and implementing solar power projects, the esteemed medical institute aims to significantly reduce its electricity expenses while simultaneously contributing to environmental sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint, with support from IREDA.
