NPG Recommends 2 Rly Projects Under Gati Shakti

Three railway projects, including two in Odisha, and three highway and transportation projects totaling Rs28,875.16 crore have been approved by the National Planning Group (NPG).

Speaking at the 53rd MPG meeting on Wednesday, Special Secretary, Logistics, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Sumita Dawra, stated that these projects would offer multimodal connectivity for socioeconomic development and relieve congestion in the existing city and rail infrastructure while keeping in mind the Area Development Approach vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These initiatives are crucial for increasing capacity in the future and will improve the logistical effectiveness of the project region.

By avoiding congested and densely inhabited areas, these initiatives should increase connectivity to various villages and important industrial business hubs. They should also cut down on travel time. Additionally, it is anticipated that the proposed developments will widen commercial options and create job chances for locals.
