Gruner Renewable to Establish 100 Bio-CNG Plants

Gruner Renewable Energy (GRE), a pioneering force in the renewable sector, is embarking on an ambitious journey to establish 100 bio CNG plants throughout India. Fueled by a vision for sustainable energy solutions, the company is targeting a remarkable turnover of Rs 10 billion by the conclusion of this fiscal year.

Notably, GRE has joined forces with BioEnergy Germany, a renowned German enterprise specialising in technology and engineering design for biomass-based gas plants. This strategic partnership has resulted in 42 confirmed project orders for the creation of biogas plants within the country.

Utkarsh Gupta, the founder and CEO of Gruner Renewable, highlighted the promising trajectory, stating, "We have so far secured 42 firm contracts for building biogas plants and many more are in the offing." India's commitment to establish 5,000 commercial units and produce 15 MMT of Compressed Biogas (CBG) by 2024–2025 resonates with GRE's dedication to advancing the nation's energy landscape.

The drive towards renewable energy sources has garnered significant governmental attention. At the Global Conference on Compressed Biogas (CBG) held in April, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri emphasised India's aspiration to raise the gas share in its energy mix to 15 per cent by 2030, fueling a transition to a gas-based energy model. Given the nation's current reliance on imported natural gas, this transformative move holds immense potential.

GRE's recent announcement of the inaugural Napier grass bio CNG plant stands as a testament to its commitment. As GRE navigates the landscape of sustainable energy, its bio CNG endeavours signal a dynamic shift towards greener, self-sufficient energy solutions.
