In a significant boost to the rural infrastructure of the state, it was reported that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had inaugurated 21 bus stands in 13 districts and laid the foundation of 124 more at block headquarters in 26 districts under the 'Ama Bus Stand' Yojana.

The chief minister was quoted as describing the accomplishments achieved through the 'Ama Bus Stand' Yojana as a pivotal moment for the state's transportation sector. He remarked that once the new bus stands were completed, they would bring benefits to approximately two crore individuals residing in the state. The chief minister also added that the new bus stands would be designed using a contemporary approach and would encompass all necessary amenities for the convenience of passengers, drivers, and other staff members. In addition, he inaugurated the mobile application for 'Mo Paribahan Seva', noting that this app was intended to spare the general public from the need to personally visit offices in order to access various transportation services.

With the aim of enhancing driver efficiency, the chief minister introduced the 'Su Bahak' scheme during the event. This scheme was expected to provide training to over 50,000 drivers. Furthermore, he inaugurated a driver training center in Palur, Ganjam district, through a virtual ceremony. Emphasizing that a robust transportation system played a crucial role in promoting economic development within the region, he indicated that it facilitated easy access to schools, colleges, and hospitals for the population. Naveen urged the Transport department to maintain their efforts in delivering improved facilities to the public.

Tukuni Sahu, the Minister of Commerce and Transport, was reported to have stated that in addition to enhancing road transportation, endeavors were being made to expand efficient railway and air services to the citizens.
