Sterlite Power wins Rajasthan green energy transmission project

It was stated that Sterlite Power had obtained an order for green energy transmission concerning Rajasthan Phase-III (20GW). It was mentioned in the statement that the project involved the creation of a 350km 765Kv electricity transmission corridor, although the specific value of the order was not revealed.
As per the statement, the project consisted of three main components. The first was a 350 km 765kV transmission corridor that would connect the Fatehgarh III renewable energy zone to the substation located at Beawar. Additionally, there was a plan for constructing a 3000 MVA 765/400kV Substation at Beawar, along with the construction of two LILO lines covering a distance of approximately 120 km.
Furthermore, the project encompassed the implementation of a Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOM) system at the Fatehgarh III substation. The statement asserted that Sterlite Power would become the inaugural private transmission infrastructure developer in the nation to execute a STATCOM.
This triumph in securing the order marked the second involvement of Sterlite Power in green energy transmission undertakings in Rajasthan. It was pointed out that the project had been put up for bidding through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) procedure.
Sterlite Power was issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) by REC Power Development and Consultancy, which happened to be a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC. This LoI granted Sterlite Power the authority to construct the project on a BOOT (build, own, operate, transfer) basis, and this arrangement was slated to last for a span of 35 years.
Pratik Agarwal, who served as the Managing Director at Sterlite Power, remarked that the advancement of these vital renewable infrastructure assets marked a substantial stride in the progression of India's objectives pertaining to renewable energy.
