Rajkot Airport terminal commences operations

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) orchestrated the seamless closure of the former Rajkot Airport, aligning it with their earlier announcement that the older facility would cease operations upon the full functionality of the new greenfield airport. During this transition period, officials and equipment from the former airport were efficiently relocated to the newly established Raikot International Airport.
Strategically positioned on the Raikot-Ahmedabad highway, the new airport is situated 30 kilometers from Rajkot City and the former Rajkot Airport. To further enhance passenger convenience and accessibility, the state government introduced a daily bus service from the ST bus stop to the new airport. Commencing at 6 a.m. and running at two-hour intervals throughout the day, this service aims to ensure that travelers can reach the airport conveniently and in a timely manner.
The inauguration of Raikot International Airport signifies a significant milestone in Gujarat's aviation landscape, promising improved connectivity, services, and economic opportunities for the region. As the state continues to grow and evolve, the new airport is expected to play a pivotal role in facilitating travel and commerce.
With IndiGo and other carriers poised to operate from Raikot International Airport, passengers can look forward to a more seamless and efficient air travel experience. As Gujarat embraces this new aviation hub, the future of air travel in the region holds great promise.
