NABARD sanctions funds to Govt of Raj for godowns in Ajmer

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has approved a financial allocation of INR 14.40 crore for the Government of Rajasthan under the Warehouse Infrastructure Fund (WIF) for the fiscal year 2023-24. Dr. Rajiv Siwach, Chief General Manager of NABARD's Rajasthan Regional Office, made this announcement, highlighting the significance of this allocation.

The sanctioned funds, amounting to INR 14.40 crore, have been earmarked for the construction of two godowns by the Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation in Kishangarh, located in Ajmer district. This infrastructure development project is designed to create a storage capacity of 22,500 metric tons (MT).

Dr. Siwach emphasized that these godowns will provide state-of-the-art storage facilities for 22,500 MT of agricultural produce. They will be accessible for use by farmers, government agencies, traders, and various other stakeholders, ultimately contributing to the prevention of agricultural produce wastage. The Chief General Manager further noted that approximately 1.20 lakh residents from around 150 nearby villages are expected to benefit from this initiative.

This financial support from NABARD underscores the organization's commitment to enhancing agricultural infrastructure and promoting the efficient storage and utilization of agricultural commodities in the state of Rajasthan.
