4 bidders vie for Mumbai Metro Line 6 track contract

Four firms had submitted bids to supply and install ballastless tracks on Mumbai Metro's 15.18 km Line-6 (Pink Line), which was to connect Swami Samarth Nagar (Lokhandwala) to Vikhroli via 13 elevated stations. The city's new Line-6, which was under construction by J Kumar Infraprojects (Packages BC-01R1 & BC-03) and MBZ ? EIIL JV (Package BC-02R) since 2019, was being executed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). This was a contract retender for the track work on the line. In the original round, the DMRC had invited tenders for Package MT-09 in August 2021 with an estimated cost of Rs 380.04 million and a deadline of 450 days. However, the bidding process was cancelled in September 2021 for vague "administrative reasons" just before the bid submission deadline closed. In the new round, DMRC re-invited bids in August 2023, estimating the cost at Rs 960.34 million and setting a deadline of 730 days (2 years). Technical bids were opened, revealing four bidders. The bidders included Apurvakriti Infrastructure, KEC International, Paras Railtech, and Rahee Infratech.
