Indore Metro set to launch commercial operations in 5 months

The commencement of metro service operations has been scheduled to start next year. The exact date and time of the launch have not been disclosed yet. However, it was anticipated to begin its service by February 2024. The Indore Metro is being maintained and operated by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (MPMRCL).

Regarding the trial run of the Indore Metro, at present, the MPMRCL announced that a trial run of the metro train from Gandhi Nagar station to Super Corridor 3 metro station would be conducted. This 5.9-kms-long stretch is a part of the Priority Section of the Yellow Line of the Phase 1 corridor.

When it comes to the route map of Indore Metro Phase 1, the project spans 31.54 kilometres and incorporates 29 stations. Out of these, 23 stations will be on elevated sections, covering 24.06 km, while the remaining 6 stations will be underground. Users can generate up to 6 QR tickets at a single time using the ticketing service. Metro tickets can be booked between 6 am to 9 pm for all lines and from 4 am to 11 pm for the Airport line. A convenience fee will be charged for payments made via credit/debit card, as per DMRC. However, for payments made through UPI, no fee will be charged.
