Centre approves seven bridges in Arunachal at 118.5 crore
In a significant development aimed at enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth in Arunachal Pradesh, the Centre has granted approval for seven bridge projects under the Setu Bandhan Scheme, with a cumulative cost of Rs.118.5 million (Rs 711.85 crores). The announcement was made by Union Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Mr. Gadkari, in a statement released on Wednesday night, expressed the government's commitment to improving the overall quality of life and promoting the socio-economic development of Arunachal Pradesh through these infrastructure projects. The projects are expected to have a far-reaching impact on the region's connectivity and economic prospects.
Among the approved projects, two reinforced cement concrete (RCC) bridges are slated for construction over the Pacha river in the Lachang and Goang areas of East Kameng district. Additionally, three more bridges are set to be constructed on National Highway 313, connecting the Roing-Anini road to New Chidu village via NHPC colony in the Lower Dibang district.
These initiatives are seen as vital steps in bolstering the region's infrastructure, and they reflect the government's commitment to improving transportation networks and connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh. As the projects move forward, they are expected to play a crucial role in the development of the state and the improvement of the overall quality of life for its residents.
