Noida Airport Runway and ATC Tower to be ready by March 2024

Construction work on the runway of Noida International Airport in Jewar is nearly 70% complete, and the target for completion is February-March 2024. SP Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Civil Aviation Department, had visited the site on to inspect the ongoing work. They began by inspecting the work on the Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower. The tower, standing at 30 metres high, consists of eight floors. Work on six floors has been finished, and the remaining two floors are still under construction. The construction would be completed by February 2024. Goyal also examined the progress on the terminal building. Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Yamuna International Airport, the airport's developer, stated that approximately 7,200 workers are currently working at the site. Additionally, NHAI officials confirmed that a road is being constructed to connect the airport to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, and it will be completed on time. They also highlighted that 15 million safe work hours have been completed during the airport's construction. During Goyal's visit, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority CEO Dr. Arun Vir Singh, YIAPL CEO Schnellmann, and District Magistrate Manish Verma, among others, were present. The site's strategic location is noteworthy, being 72 km away from IGI Airport, 40 km from Noida, and 130 km from Agra. Additionally, it is approximately 30 km from State Highway 22A, which connects Palwal and Aligarh, and just 700 metres from the Yamuna Expressway.
