J&K L-G Sinha: Power and roads infra benefits farmers

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced that the power and road projects in the countryside would benefit marginalised people and farmers. This statement was made during the foundation laying ceremony of infrastructure projects in Bandipora district in north Kashmir. According to posts on the micro-blogging platform X by the Office of the L-G, Sinha inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of infrastructure projects worth over Rs 730 million. During the event, he distributed land allotment orders to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin and handed out sanction letters under various welfare schemes. Sinha emphasised that the power, road, bridge projects, and water schemes would create a more competitive environment in remote areas, ultimately benefiting marginalised sections of society and large farming families. In a review meeting with the Bandipora district administration, the L-G assessed the progress of infrastructure projects, including centrally sponsored and Union territory sector schemes. He urged the district administration to formulate a detailed action plan for the winter season, aiming to enhance the citizens' quality of life. Sinha highlighted the importance of collaboration between the power sector, education, health, agriculture, horticulture, and tourism departments to bolster the growth and development of Bandipora. He emphasized that tourism could play a pivotal role in the district's development. Earlier in the month, during his visit to the frontier district of Kupwara, Sinha had informed about the approval of a technical survey by the railway ministry for the construction of a railway line in the area.
