Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also oversees the Energy portfolio, recently directed the MSEDCL to deliver high-quality and customer-centric services to electricity consumers. The MSEDCL has outlined plans to replace the conventional meters of over two crore consumers in the state with prepaid smart meters. As stated in an official release, once these meters are installed, customers will have the authority to determine their electricity expenditure.
Additionally, the MSEDCL has specified that consumers will receive regular updates regarding their electricity consumption and the remaining prepaid balance in their accounts, directly on their mobile phones. Consequently, consumers will be equipped with valuable information to make informed decisions about their electricity usage, aligning it with their financial planning.
