Agra metro adopts innovative 3rd rail traction system for power supply

In an innovative endeavour, the Agra Metro is implementing a third rail traction system to provide power to its trains. Unlike traditional Overhead Equipment (OHE), prone to tripping when interfacing with other projects, the Agra Metro's network is designed without OHE.

The installation of the third rail traction system has been successfully completed at the Agra Metro Rail Depot and on the elevated section. An engineer elaborated, stating, "The third rail system runs parallel to the track, distinguished by yellow markings." This system facilitates a seamless power supply. Additionally, officials have confirmed the initiation of third rail construction in the underground section of the Agra Metro Rail Project.
