Blue Energy Motors achieves milestone: Decarbonising the CV industry

Blue Energy Motors, a zero-emission truck manufacturer and the pioneer of India’s green trucking revolution, showcased its commitment to decarbonising the CV industry as its fleet of trucks has successfully reduced over 2000 tonnes of CO2 emissions since its inception. In India, the Logistics sector is the third most CO2 emitting sector, with 14% share of emissions. Within Logistics, heavy trucking contributes to 90% of total CO2 emissions. Blue Energy Motors' commitment to decarbonizing has significantly reduced this impact, saving over 2000 tonnes of CO2 emissions—equivalent to the positive environmental impact of planting 80,000 trees.

BEM, at the forefront of India's green trucking revolution, has been a key player in steering the logistics industry towards sustainable and environmentally conscious practices.  In a groundbreaking initiative, Blue Energy Motors (BEM) is leading the charge in revolutionising the logistics processes of heavy-duty trucks, making a significant stride towards decarbonizing road transportation. BEM's LNG-powered trucks, with their remarkable emission reduction potential, play a pivotal role in reshaping the landscape of sustainable logistics in India. The deployment of LNG trucks by BEM aligns with the urgent need to address climate change concerns associated with the logistics sector, which is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions. Recognizing the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, BEM's commitment to reducing emissions emerges as a game-changer in the heavy-duty trucking industry.

Commenting on this development, Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors said, “Surpassing the 2000 LNG truck milestone underscores Blue Energy Motors' resolute commitment to decarbonizing the commercial vehicle industry. Through this step, we aim to catalyse a paradigm shift in the logistics sector and set the standard for the CV industry by re-establishing our goal of contributing to India’s sustainability target.”

The emission reduction statistics of LNG trucks underscore their environmental impact, with a notable 28% decrease in CO2 emissions compared to diesel counterparts. Additionally, these trucks contribute to a cleaner atmosphere by reducing noise pollution by up to 30%, carbon monoxide by up to 70%, sulphur oxide by up to 100%, nitrogen oxide by up to 59%, and particulate matter by up to 91%. A single LNG truck, covering an average distance of 80,000 km, can significantly cut down emissions, showcasing the tangible benefits of this green transportation solution.

Blue Energy Motors is disrupting the heavy-duty trucking industry by creating a clean alternative to decarbonize the environment by providing an immediate solution and breaking the barriers of economic returns. Its disruptive business model enables corporate customers to integrate next-generation truck technology, LNG fuelling infrastructure and maintenance. By creating this ecosystem, Blue Energy Motors and its strategic business partners and suppliers are paving the way for zero-emission transportation and ushering in a green trucking revolution.
