Centre allocates Rs 17.42 bn for 4-lane Mizoram highway

The approval for the construction of the 4-lane N Kawnpui (N.Mualvum) - Sairang section on NH-6, located along the Silchar - Valrengte - Sairang road in the Aizawl and Kolasib districts in Mizoram, has been granted by the Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari. The sanctioned outlay for this project amounts to Rs 17.42 billion.

The minister conveyed that the 24.41 km project will be implemented under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode as a part of the National Highway (Original) - North East (NH(O)-NE) project.

Gadkari mentioned that the proposed road infrastructure aims to enable uninterrupted traffic flow, avoiding interference from local traffic in developed areas. This initiative is intended to ease congestion in urban zones, consequently enhancing road safety within these populated areas.
