89 trees to be removed for Metro-Monorail skywalk connection

The skywalk, measuring 405 metres in length, is scheduled to be completed by December 2024. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is overseeing the execution of this project, with an estimated cost of Rs 700 million. The Sant Ghadge Maharaj Chowk, commonly known as Jacob Circle, serves as the terminal station for the fully-elevated corridor that extends over a 20km stretch up to Chembur.
According to a spokesperson from MMRDA, "The project has been planned in a manner that minimises the number of trees that need to be cut."
