Schedule a Call Back
Subway connecting metro station and MSRTC Terminus Expected by April

Recent discussions between Maha Metro officials and MSRTC focused on the subway plan. The entry-exit points of the subway will be located, with one opening at the MSRTC terminus and the other at the concourse of the Metro station. Currently, barricades have been set up on Satara Road outside the bus terminus to facilitate the ongoing construction.
Sachin Gopekar, a frequent traveler from Swargate terminus to Satara, expressed concern about the current traffic situation, especially for pedestrians and commuters. He mentioned the difficulty for people leaving the MSRTC bus stand to cross the road due to continuous vehicle movement. Gopekar emphasized the importance of completing the proposed subway at the earliest to assist the public.
Another commuter, Manda Thakar, pointed out the challenges posed by haphazardly parked autorickshaws along the barricades, autorickshaw drivers driving in the wrong direction, private vehicles stopping at the chowk, and encroachments on footpaths, contributing to chaos in the area. Thakar urged authorities to expedite the construction and prioritize its completion to alleviate the difficulties faced by the public.
Chentil Iyer from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) highlighted the adverse impact on PMPML bus commuters, emphasizing that they were significantly affected by heavy traffic while navigating to bus stops for public transport, exposing themselves to daily road risks.
Maha Metro officials acknowledged that the barricades would remain for a few more days as work was still underway. However, they reassured that there was a plan to remove barricades from completed work areas. They also mentioned ongoing communication with MSRTC to expedite the work, emphasizing that the subway would benefit non-Metro commuters as they would not need a Metro ticket to use the facility.
