Scindia inaugurates JSL hydrogen plant

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister, virtually inaugurated Jindal Steel Ltd's (JSL) first green hydrogen project based in Hisar, Haryana, on February 27, 2024.

"This project is a state-of-the-art green hydrogen facility with a target to reduce carbon emissions considerably by around 2,700 metric tonnes per annum and 54,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over 20 years," said one of the officials.

JSL has announced a partnership in August 2022 with Hygenco India to set up a green hydrogen plant. JSL Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal then stated that they planned to transition from thermal to clean energy and continue their ESG (Environmental, social and governance) to achieve net zero emissions and power conservation.
