Assam's CM Launches Rs 624 Crore Projects in Barpeta

According to an official release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the initiatives encompass a diverse range of projects aimed at enhancing connectivity, healthcare, sports facilities, and overall infrastructure in the region.
Among the noteworthy projects inaugurated by the Chief Minister is the Atal Uran two-lane setu, a vital link connecting Barpeta Road Railway station and Sarupeta Railway station, with an investment of Rs 42 crore. Additionally, infrastructure enhancements such as road strengthening and beautification, piped water schemes, and multi-utility buildings underline the comprehensive approach towards development in the district.
Laying the foundation stones for key establishments like the Sarukhetri District Hospital, Sarbhog stadium, and various road projects further accentuates the commitment towards bolstering healthcare and sports infrastructure, alongside improving connectivity within the district.
Addressing the gathering on this momentous occasion, Chief Minister Sarma highlighted the transformative potential of these projects, emphasizing their role in positioning Barpeta as a major industrial hub. He expressed optimism regarding the substantial improvements these initiatives would bring to the region's infrastructure, including roads, healthcare facilities, water supply, and sports amenities.
The Chief Minister's visit also included a vibrant roadshow in Barpeta, where he was warmly received by residents from all walks of life. Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support, Sarma reiterated the government's dedication to serving the people and advancing the state's development agenda.
Highlighting the government's achievements, Sarma emphasized the fulfillment of electoral promises, including the creation of government jobs and welfare schemes benefiting millions across the state. He underscored initiatives such as microfinance loan waivers, healthcare benefits, and educational incentives aimed at empowering citizens, particularly women and students.
Urging cooperation from the public, Sarma emphasized the collective responsibility in realizing the vision of a prosperous Assam under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He called upon citizens to actively contribute towards building a new and vibrant Assam in line with the broader national agenda.
The visit also witnessed the unveiling of a life-sized statue of the late G.L. Agarwala, symbolizing homage to his significant contributions to socio-economic empowerment. The presence of key dignitaries including Minister Education Ranoj Pegu and Minister Panchayat and Rural Development Ranjeet Kumar Dass underscored the collaborative effort towards realizing the developmental aspirations of Barpeta and the broader Assamese community.
The event marks a significant milestone in the journey towards inclusive growth and underscores the government's unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of citizens across Assam.
