Steel girder launched for Indore's MR10 Metro Track

The resolution of the railway crossing issues in the midst of the Metro project at MR 10 has been confirmed, and the commencement of the successful launch of the massive steel girder took place, aided by cranes. An official stated that following the triumphant completion of the steel girder placement, tracks will be laid by positioning slabs atop the girder.

The method involves placing the steel girder on the railway line, as concretisation is prohibited on the railway tracks. During the girder's launching by the Metro authorities, the MR-10 railway crossing was temporarily closed for train movement.

The insertion of the girder was facilitated by two large cranes. Engineers affiliated with the Metro project explained that a slab would be cast on the steel girder, and subsequently, the process of laying tracks on it would commence. Officials mentioned that the Indore Development Authority (IDA) has constructed an 8-lane overbridge over the railway crossing at MR-10.

Since the Metro line traverses the same area, the construction of pillars on the railway line was forbidden by both the railway department and the project specifications. Consequently, a massive steel girder was employed to span the entire railway line. At present, ongoing work includes the development of the super corridor from Gandhi Nagar to MR-10 and the elevated corridor from Vijay Nagar to Robot Square, wherein tracks are being installed along the segments.
