PM Modi unveils Rs 196 billion worth of development projects in Odisha
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects in Chandikhole, Odisha, collectively worth over Rs 196 billion. The projects span sectors such as oil & gas, railways, roads, transport & highways, and atomic energy.
Key highlights of the event include:
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd Mono Ethylene Glycol Project: Inaugurated at the Paradip Refinery, this project aims to reduce India's import dependency in the petrochemical sector.
0.6 MMTPA LPG Import Facility: Another significant inauguration at Paradip, this facility is set to revolutionise the polyester industry in eastern India.
Product Pipeline: A 344 km long product pipeline connecting Paradip in Odisha to Haldia in West Bengal was inaugurated, promising improved logistical efficiency and industrial growth.
Seawater Desalination Plant: A 5 MLD capacity seawater desalination plant at Odisha Sands Complex of IREL(I) Ltd was inaugurated, showcasing indigenous desalination technologies developed by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.
The Prime Minister also emphasised the government's commitment to addressing present needs and future aspirations. He highlighted efforts to enhance the energy sector in Eastern India, including significant projects under the Urja Ganga Yojana.
The event also witnessed the dedication of road and railway projects to improve connectivity and foster economic growth in the region. Notable projects include the four-laning of several highway sections and the inauguration of rail infrastructure like the Bansapani - Daitari - Tomka - Jakhapura Rail Line.
Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the transformative impact of these projects and paid tribute to leaders like Biju Patnaik for their contributions to Odisha's development.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Governor of Odisha, Shri Raghubar Das, the Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik, and the Union Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
Overall, the event marked a significant milestone in Odisha's development journey, signalling a concerted effort towards building a more resilient and prosperous future for the state and the nation.
