Revamped Cherlapalli Railway Station to be ready soon

The South Central Railway (SCR) stated that commuters from the city?s eastern region were facing hardships. Accordingly, the railway authorities had chosen Cherlapalli, strategically located on the eastern side of Hyderabad and experiencing rapid development, besides its convenient proximity to the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

It was mentioned that once operations commenced, this terminal would not only alleviate congestion at existing rail terminals but also cater to passengers from the city?s eastern part.

The station, being constructed at a cost of Rs 4.30 billion, would boast modern infrastructure and passenger amenities. The station building would include six booking counters, separate waiting halls for men and women, an upper-class waiting area, and an executive lounge on the ground floor.

On the first floor, there would be a cafeteria, restaurant, and restrooms along with spacious concourse areas and a modern elevation featuring illuminated facade lighting. Furthermore, the renovated station would incorporate four additional platforms, with the length of the existing five platforms being extended. Additionally, two new foot overbridges, one 12 metres wide and another six meters wide, seven lifts, and six escalators were planned.

Other notable features of the revamped Cherlapalli railway station would include ample parking space, signboards indicating directions, and CCTV surveillance.
