Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Railways and IT Minister said that significant progress has been made in construction of various stations for India's first bullet train, work on bullet trains is progressing very well on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route and that the first train is geared up to run in one section in 2026.

He said that work is now nearing completion with over 290 km of work which has already been done, bridges have been built over eight rivers, work is going on at 12 stations and stations have also come at the same level.

He said that work is going on at a very fast pace at two depots with the complete target of opening its first section in 2026. The complex Bullet Train project work began in 2017 and took almost two-and-a-half years for design completion.
