Indian EV startup extends offer to interns rejected by Elon Musk
Pravaig Dynamics, a startup based in Bengaluru specialising in electric vehicles, has extended offers to interns from Tesla, who found their offers withdrawn shortly before their expected start date. The startup invited them to join Bengaluru, often dubbed the Silicon Valley of India, where their skills and contributions would be recognised and valued. Elon Musk, the tech billionaire, has recently rescinded internship offers at his company Tesla Inc as part of cost-cutting measures.
As many prospective employees expressed their disappointment on LinkedIn, citing the challenge of finding alternative opportunities for the summer, Pravaig stepped in to offer assistance. Shivangi Bagri, a Partner at Pravaig responsible for HR, expressed empathy for those affected and highlighted the value of their skills and experiences, which remain intact despite the revoked offers from Tesla.
Bagri stated that while Pravaig might not replicate the exact opportunities offered by Tesla, they could provide a supportive environment where talents are appreciated. She encouraged those with genuine offer letters from Tesla to consider joining Pravaig in Bengaluru.
In response to recent reports of layoffs at Tesla due to declining sales, Bagri addressed a post to 'Tesla Aspirants,' acknowledging the prevalent unemployment issues in the industry. She expressed a desire to address the challenges faced by individuals affected by such situations, emphasising the importance of supporting employees and fulfilling contracts.
