Nidec expands local manufacturing capabilities with launch of Hubli facility

Nidec Corporation, a global leader in electric motor manufacturing, has launched its motion and energy phase 1 facility in Hubli. The purpose of this expansion is to enhance its local production capabilities by streamlining the supply chain and enabling the production of the NE range of variable speed drives (VSDs) in India, along with elevator motors and electric vehicle motors.

The Hubli phase 1 Facility, spanning 4,093.6 sq m, will serve as a central hub for sourcing essential components, assemblies, and materials required for the localised production of the 0.4~22 kW NE range of VSDs in India. This strategic expansion positions Nidec Motion & Energy for further growth alongside India's booming economy. By localising production and optimizing the supply chain, Nidec aims to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and further strengthen its presence in the Indian market.
