Five Sundargarh Stations to Transform

In a significant move to enhance railway infrastructure, five stations in Odisha's Sundargarh district are set for a comprehensive upgrade to world-class standards. This initiative is part of the broader Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aimed at modernising railway stations across India.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that these upgrades would transform the stations with state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring a better travel experience. The project is part of the Indian Railways' larger goal to modernise 1,275 stations nationwide, with a specific focus on enhancing passenger amenities and infrastructure.

The redevelopment will feature improved station buildings, better platforms, and enhanced passenger facilities such as waiting areas, lounges, and upgraded ticketing systems. Additionally, the project aims to incorporate green energy solutions and sustainable practices.

This initiative aligns with the Indian government's vision to boost connectivity and promote regional development. By upgrading these stations, the government aims to support local economies, enhance tourism potential, and provide a seamless travel experience for passengers.

The announcement underscores the government's commitment to investing in infrastructure that meets global standards, reflecting the broader agenda of economic development and modernisation. The Sundargarh project exemplifies the transformative potential of targeted infrastructure investments in India's rail network?
