Wacker Neuson to expand Serbian plant

German construction equipment manufacturer Wacker Neuson Group said it plans to expand its Serbian plant, located in the southern city of Kragujevac, and will employ an additional 200 workers.

“In the next stages of the company's development, we plan to expand the existing production plant, which will include a modern paint shop, and build a completely new factory for the assembly of finished products - construction machines,” said the CEO of the Kragujevac plant, Michael Schmuecker, as seen in a YouTube video published by media outlet Glas Sumadije. The company currently employs 500 workers across two production facilities in Kragujevac. In June, Wacker Neuson opened its Kragujevac factory following a $25 million investment in the first phase of construction.

Munich-headquartered Wacker Neuson a global manufacturer of high-quality light and compact equipment. It also operates in the US and has a total of more than 6,300 employees.
