CISF Assumes Security for NTPC-Coal Mining Project in Jharkhand

NTPC, India's largest energy conglomerate, was established in 1975 with the aim of accelerating power development in the country. Over the years, NTPC has emerged as India's leading power generator, boasting a capacity of approximately 68 GW. The release noted that NTPC, known as the country's largest power producer, had ventured into captive coal production.
The CISF would now provide continuous armed security to the NTPC-Coal Mining Project in Hazaribagh, ensuring round-the-clock safety and security at the site. The induction ceremony, attended by several dignitaries including Faiz Taiyab, DP Parihar, Rajneesh Rastogi, Sandeep Kumar S, and Mruthyunjaya Swamy D, witnessed the formal integration of the new unit, led by a commandant-rank officer.
The CISF's security portfolio encompasses India's critical infrastructure such as nuclear installations, space facilities, airports, seaports, and power plants. Additionally, it safeguards important government buildings, iconic heritage sites, and the Delhi Metro. The CISF also manages a specialized VIP security division, providing continuous protection to prominent individuals, according to information from the CISF official website.
