UP government begins acquiring land for Noida airport phase-II

The district administration has initiated the physical acquisition of land for the second phase of the Noida International Airport, which includes the planned maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) hub and aviation hub.

For this phase, the administration is set to acquire 1,365 acres of land. Out of this, 1,181.3 hectares will come from the villages of Karauli Bangar, Dayanatpur, Kuraib, Ranhera, Mudharh, and Beerampur, with a projected cost of Rs 48.98 billion. The remaining land is already owned by the government.

So far, the administration has taken possession of 237 hectares out of the 1,181 hectares designated for acquisition across six villages. Land has been acquired from three villages: Birampur (54.6 out of 57.6 hectares), Dayanatpur (145 out of 148 hectares), and Mudharh (37 out of 48 hectares).

District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma stated that the process of taking possession in the remaining villages is ongoing, with compensation distribution nearing its final stages. He mentioned that they are taking possession of land where all necessary procedures have been completed.

The state government issued a notification to acquire land for the second phase on November 18, 2022, and the distribution of compensation began in July last year. In addition, the resettlement and rehabilitation (R&R) process is underway to relocate farmers from three villages. Approximately 13,000 families affected by the land acquisition for the second phase will be resettled in Falaida Bangar and Modalpur, requiring 212 hectares of land. Farmers from Ranhera, Kuraib, and Karauli Bangar villages will be entirely displaced.
