Government begins land acquisition for Noida Airport Phase 2

The Noida International Airport, also known as Jewar Airport, is set to become a major aviation hub. The first phase, currently under construction, is expected to be completed by 2024, providing an initial capacity of 12 million passengers annually. The second phase will significantly boost this capacity.
The project is being developed by Zurich Airport International AG, which won the contract in 2019. The entire project is projected to cost around Rs 29,560 crore, with the first phase requiring Rs 5,730 crore. The airport will have state-of-the-art facilities, making it a key player in the regional and international aviation sectors.
The development is anticipated to spur economic growth, create employment opportunities, and attract investments in the region. With enhanced connectivity, the airport will also reduce the congestion at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. This ambitious project underscores the government?s commitment to infrastructure development and improving transportation networks across the country.
