Panaji MLA Assures Road Repairs Post-Monsoon

Panaji MLA Atanasio ?Babush? Monserrate attributed the current condition of Panaji's roads to heavy rainfall on Monday. He stated that the heavy rains were solely responsible for the state of the roads, and that this period would serve as a test to identify the issues related to the Smart City projects. Monserrate emphasised that any problems would need to be assessed and addressed after the monsoon season.

Monserrate indicated that rectifications would be made post-monsoon, as assessing the situation during the heavy rains was not feasible. He noted that patchwork repairs were not a viable solution, as merely placing rubble would be temporary and would eventually deteriorate. The MLA stressed that the tender for the Smart City project specified the required quality of work, and that a thorough assessment would be necessary. He pointed out that the consultant who approved the final work was responsible for ensuring the quality of the project.

Monserrate reiterated that the real evaluation of what went wrong would take place after the monsoon, and that the consultant's role in the project would be scrutinized to ensure that the quality standards mentioned in the tender were met.
