MBMC to Acquire Ghodbunder Road from Gaimukh to Ahmedabad Highway

The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) is poised to take ownership of a crucial stretch of Ghodbunder Road, extending from Gaimukh to the Ahmedabad Highway junction. This significant move is part of the MBMC's broader plan to enhance infrastructure and manage the road more effectively.

Currently under the jurisdiction of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), the 13-kilometre stretch of Ghodbunder Road has been a key transit route connecting various parts of the region. The transfer of ownership to MBMC is expected to streamline management and expedite maintenance work, aiming to address longstanding issues related to road quality and traffic congestion.

MBMC officials have announced plans for immediate upgrades once the transfer is complete. These improvements include resurfacing the road, expanding lanes, and implementing better traffic management systems. The goal is to alleviate traffic bottlenecks and improve overall road safety for commuters.

The decision to hand over the road aligns with the MBMC?s strategy to take greater control over local infrastructure projects and ensure that road development projects meet the specific needs of the community. This move is anticipated to bring more focused attention to the road's maintenance and facilitate faster execution of improvement plans.

Residents and commuters can expect enhanced road conditions and reduced travel time once the upgrades are underway. The MBMC's initiative reflects a commitment to improving urban mobility and infrastructure in the region.
