Andhra Pradesh to get seven new airports: Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is currently on a two-day visit to Delhi, where he is meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other union ministers. The Chief Minister met with Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu at the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Following their meeting, Rammohan Naidu announced that Andhra Pradesh's airport network will expand from the current seven airports to a total of 14. The Chief Minister has expressed a desire to increase the terminal capacity of existing airports and enhance facilities at Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, and Kadapa.

The Union Minister indicated that the central government would provide support for establishing new airports, provided that the state allocates the necessary land. Among the locations proposed for new airports are Srikakulam, Dagadarthi, Kuppam, and Nagarjunasagar.

Rammohan Naidu also revealed that discussions took place regarding converting Puttaparti Airport into a government-operated facility. He noted that Chandrababu Naidu envisions Andhra Pradesh as a logistics hub, with the development of new airports playing a critical role in achieving this goal. (Source: Deccan Chronicle)
