HMRTC approves two new metro routes in Gurugram

The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has given the green light to two new metro routes in Gurugram, further expanding the city's metro rail network. This development builds on the existing 28.5 km Gurugram Metro project, which connects Millennium City Center with the Cyber City corridor. The expansion aims to improve connectivity by linking densely populated areas with key business districts.

The first proposed route, spanning approximately 17 km, will connect Bhondsi village to Gurugram Railway Station. This route will pass through key locations such as Vatika Chowk, Subash Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Sadar Bazar, and Gurugram Bus Stand, primarily following Sohna Road. It will also connect with the proposed Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) line.

The second route will cover around 13 km, starting from Golf Course Extension Road and extending to Sector 5. Stations along this route will include Millennium City Centre Metro Station, Signature Tower Crossing, Rana Pratap Chowk, and Atul Kataria Chowk, following the path of Sheetla Mata Road. Detailed project reports for these new routes will soon be prepared by appointed consultants. (Biltrax Media)
