Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat have been strategically identified due to their favourable renewable energy landscapes, abundant solar and wind resources, and proximity to industrial hubs. The new capacities will support not only green hydrogen production but also ensure a steady energy supply for the country's growing energy demands.
The development of large-scale battery and pumped storage facilities will play a pivotal role in stabilising the energy grid and storing excess renewable energy, crucial for green hydrogen projects. This initiative aligns with India's long-term goal to position itself as a global leader in green hydrogen technology and production.
As part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, the investments in these states are expected to stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and enhance the country?s energy security, further advancing India's transition to sustainable and renewable energy solutions.
