MoPSW to host maritime strategy dialogue for global goals

India's Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW) is set to launch a maritime strategy dialogue modelled on the renowned Raisina Dialogue, aiming to advance global maritime goals. This new initiative underscores India?s growing focus on maritime diplomacy and strategic engagement in the international maritime arena.

The upcoming dialogue will bring together global maritime leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss and develop strategies for sustainable maritime growth. The MoPSW?s move is seen as part of India's broader effort to play a more significant role in shaping the global maritime agenda, aligning with international goals such as climate action, sustainable development, and maritime security.

The dialogue will focus on critical issues like maritime infrastructure development, green shipping, maritime security, and blue economy initiatives. By fostering collaboration among nations, the event aims to address common challenges and explore new opportunities in the maritime sector.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal emphasised that this dialogue would not only enhance India?s maritime capabilities but also contribute to global efforts in achieving a sustainable and secure maritime environment. The initiative is expected to bolster India?s maritime diplomacy, strengthen international partnerships, and promote India as a key player in the global maritime domain.

With this strategic dialogue, India aims to contribute significantly to global maritime governance and policy-making, furthering its commitment to sustainable development and international cooperation in the maritime sector.
