UP Roadways to introduce 120 electric buses in NCR cities

UP Roadways is set to introduce 120 electric buses in cities across the National Capital Region (NCR), enhancing eco-friendly public transportation. This initiative is part of the state's broader efforts to reduce pollution and promote sustainable urban mobility. The electric buses will operate in key cities, including Noida, Ghaziabad, and Greater Noida, providing residents with a cleaner and more efficient transit option.

The introduction of electric buses aligns with the government's commitment to transitioning towards green transportation. The buses will be equipped with modern features, ensuring comfort and safety for passengers. These eco-friendly buses will also contribute to reducing the state's carbon footprint, playing a vital role in tackling air pollution, which has been a major issue in NCR cities.

This project is supported by central and state-level incentives aimed at promoting electric mobility. The move is expected to not only benefit the environment but also offer cost savings in the long run, as electric buses have lower operational costs compared to diesel buses.

The deployment of these buses will be rolled out in phases, starting with major routes in the NCR. UP Roadways plans to expand the electric bus fleet further in the coming years as part of its larger vision for green public transport across the state.

This shift towards electric vehicles reflects a growing trend in Indian cities, with many adopting clean energy solutions to meet urban transportation demands.
