REPL bags order from TN government

Rudrabhishek Enterprises Ltd (REPL), a consultancy specialising in urban development and infrastructure, has announced that it has received a work order from the Tamil Nadu government to create GIS-based master plans for 12 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). Listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), REPL stated that the Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) under the Tamil Nadu government had appointed the company to undertake this project as part of the AMRUT 2.0 Sub-Scheme.

According to REPL, this assignment aligns with the Tamil Nadu government's strategic commitment to fostering planned, sustainable urban growth by utilising advanced GIS technology to enhance efficiency, resilience, and livability in cities. REPL will conduct a detailed assessment of the existing conditions and identify development trends at the regional level, involving a comprehensive analysis of current development patterns, recognising gaps and opportunities, and formulating strategic recommendations for both current and future development.

Pradeep Misra, Chairman and Managing Director of REPL, remarked that the GIS-based master plans present a critical opportunity to guide sustainable growth within these planning areas, with a holistic approach encompassing disaster management, housing, infrastructure, and economic development.

The 12 ULBs are categorised under Packages 1 and 5. Package 1 includes Theni Allinagaram, Valparai, Udhagamandalam, Cumbam, Bodinayakanur, and Mettupalayam, while Package 5 comprises Edappadi, Udumalaipettai, Gobichettipalayam, Dharapuram, Mettur, and Pollachi.

Beyond this project, REPL is engaged in other regional assignments for both state and central governments, including the Madurai Smart City initiative, Chennai Metro Rail Phase 2, development plans for the Chennai Outer Ring Road Growth Corridor, and a street vending plan for Chennai City.
